Xinhua, November 16, 2015 Adjust font size:

Japan's economy contracted an annualized 0.8 percent in the July-September quarter of 2015, according to government data released Monday.

The Cabinet Office indicated that the contraction in gross domestic product in the recording period corresponds to a 0.2 percent decline from the previous quarter in inflation-adjusted terms and follows a revised 0.7 percent contraction in the April-June period, marking the first decline in three quarters.

The latest GDP data, which reflects the total value of goods and services produced at home, came in below median analysts' expectations for a 0.2 percent contraction. Enditem
