Chilean president arrives in Philippines for state visit, APEC meeting

Chilean President Michelle Bachelet arrived in the Philippines Sunday afternoon for a state visit and is scheduled to attend a Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting next week.

Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III will receive the visiting official on Monday in Malacanang, the presidential palace, for their bilateral meeting. The two leaders are expected to discuss how to further boost the economic and trade relations of the two countries.

Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said agreements between the Philippines and Chile will be signed.

Bachelet was the first APEC leader to arrive in Manila for the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting to be held on Nov. 18 to 19. Endit
