German automaker Audi AG reported on Thursday that around 149,200 vehicles were sold in October, a year-on-year increase of 2.0 percent.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,497,150 vehicles were delivered to customers in the first ten months of the year, an increase of 3.6 percent, according to the Ingolstadt-based company.

"We are thus firmly on track to achieve another all-time high for the whole of 2015," said Dietmar Voggenreiter, a member of the board of management for sales and marketing.

According to the company's statistics, demand proved very positive especially in the United States, up 16.8 percent, and several southern European markets. On the Chinese market, sales from January through October were almost at the same level as in 2014. Endit
