Argentina and Brazil prepare to face off in classic

Xinhua, November 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Argentinean football team will host their rivals Brazil on November 12 as part of the South American qualifiers for the Russia 2018 World Cup.

The match will kick off at 9pm in Buenos Aires' Monumental stadium and will be refereed by Paraguayan official Antonio Arias.

Although enjoying home field advantage, Argentina will be worried by the injuries that have ruled out three of its stars, Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez.

However, Argentina will welcome goalscorer Gonzalo Higuain back to the side, who was not picked for the last qualifiers in October, alongside Paris Saint-Germain teammates, Angel di Maria and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

In order to counter Brazil's creative threats, coach Gerardo Martino has hinted he might modify his tactics and deploy three central midfielders, namely Javier Mascherano, Lucas Biglia and Ever Banega.

For its part, Brazil will count with the return of Neymar, who was suspended for four international games after getting a red card against Colombia during the Copa America in June.

Brazilian coach Dunga has not confirmed his squad for the match, due to a few injury doubts, which he is clearing up.

   PROBABLE LINE-OUTS

Argentina: Sergio Romero; Facundo Roncaglia, Nicolas Otamendi, Ramiro Funes Mori, Emmanuel Mas; Lucas Biglia, Javier Mascherano, Ever Banega; Angel di Maria, Gonzalo Higuain, Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Brasil: Jefferson; Dani Alves, David Luiz, Miranda, Filipe Luis; Luiz Gustavo, Fernandinho; Willian, Neymar, Douglas Costa; Hulk.
