England rugby coach Lancaster quits

Xinhua, November 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Stuart Lancaster has resigned as head coach of the England rugby team after he failed to lead the team to knockout stage at the World Cup last month.

England became the first host nation to be eliminated in the group stages where they lost to Wales and Australia in Pool A.

"I ultimately accept and take responsibility for the team's performance," said Lancaster.

The 46-year-old Lancaster, who took over as England coach in 2012, won 28 of his 46 games. Endi
