A former senior political advisor in northeast China's Liaoning Province has been formally charged with taking bribes, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) revealed on Wednesday.
Chen Tiexin's case will be heard by the Harbin Municipal Intermediate People's Court in neighboring Heilongjiang Province, but the SPP did not specify when the court will hear the case.
Chen was vice chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He was expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and dismissed from public office in October 2014 following an internal graft investigation.
The defendant abused his power to seek benefits for others after accepting huge amounts of money and goods while he was head of the CPC Chaoyang Municipal Committee in Liaoning from 2008 to 2013, according to an indictment of the Harbin Municipal People's Procuratorate, which filed the lawsuit against Chen.
