Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah accused Israel on Saturday of "undermining the peace process and terminating the two-state solution."
In a press statement, Hamdallah warned against Israeli continuation of the settlement policies, violations against Palestinians and their holy places and limitation of the Palestinian access to natural resources.
Hamdallah made the remarks following his meeting with Luxembourg Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Asselborn in the West Bank city of Ramallah, where both parties discussed the peace process and the reconstruction process in the Gaza Strip.
Hamdallah hailed Luxembourg's support for the Palestinian appeal to set a timeframe to end of the Israeli occupation, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 border with east Jerusalem as its capital as well as elevating the Palestinian representation.
Earlier on Saturday, Asselborn met with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki in Ramallah on the latest escalation on the ground.
In a joint press conference, al-Malki said that Israel's plans to change the status-quo on Al-Aqsa Mosque compound is the instigator of the current wave of tension.
He said that the Palestinian government has asked several bodies to provide Palestinians with international protection, including the European Union (EU), the UN Security Council and Human Rights Council.
Al-Malki called on the EU to assume its responsibilities for ending the Israeli occupation and obliging Israel to halt settlement activities.
For his part, Asselborn expressed his country's willingness to revive the peace process in line with the two-state solution.
He reiterated Luxembourg's opposition to settlements as they violate the international laws.
Asselborn said he will visit the Gaza Strip on Sunday to see the reconstruction process following a 50-day-war launched by Israel on the coastal enclave in 2014. Endit
