EU foreign policy chief to visit Ukraine, Georgia

European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini will travel to Ukraine and Georgia on Nov. 7 to 8, the European External Action Service announced here on Friday.

On next Monday in Ukraine, Mogherini will meet Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

She will also meet the representatives in Ukraine's parliament, and is due to speak with civil society organizations and the leaders of Crimean Tatars.

In Georgia on Tuesday, the agenda of Mogherini includes meetings with President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Foreign Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.

In Georgia, She will also speak at the International High Level Conference "Achieving Gender Equality" and pay a field visit to the Administrative Boundary Line, with the EU's Monitoring Mission (EUMM Georgia).

According to the EU side, the visits are part of a broader tour of the partner countries of the Eastern Partnership.

Ukraine and Georgia are two of the six partner countries of the Eastern Partnership. Both have signed the Association Agreement/Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU. Endit
