Spain's housing sales increase by 13.8 pct in Sept.

Spanish housing sales rose by 13.8 percent in September when compared with the same month of a year earlier, Spain's Statistical Office (INE) reported on Friday.
A total of 30,711 operations were registered in September, the INE said, with sales of second-hand houses increasing by 36 percent to a total of 24,600 purchases and sales of new houses falling by 31.3 percent to 6,111 purchases when compared with September, 2014.
Spanish housing sales have been rising for 13 consecutive months on a year-on-year basis.
In the first nine months of the year housing sales rose by 12.2 percent, with sales of new houses decreasing by 35.3 percent and sales of second-hand houses rising by 42.9 percent.
On a month-on-month basis, housing sales rose by 4.6 percent from August to September. In September, 89.9 percent of sales were of non-subsidized houses, whose purchases rose by 15 percent on a year-on-year basis to 27,621 operations.
Meanwhile, purchases of subsidized houses rose by 4.5 percent to 3,090 percent. Endit
