China vows to deepen military ties with Cambodia

Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan said here on Friday that China is ready to further deepen its military exchanges and cooperation with Cambodia.
The Chinese military will earnestly implement important consensuses reached between leaders of the two countries, Chang said when meeting with his Cambodian counterpart Tea Banh.
He vowed to continue supporting Cambodia's defense development and army building, and deepen and expand exchanges and cooperation with the kingdom's army at all levels and in various fields.
The Chinese minister appreciated Cambodia's upholding of an objective and fair stance, as well as its firm support to China on issues of China's major concerns.
China will unswervingly carry out the concept of "amity, sincerity, sharing in prosperity, and inclusiveness" in neighborhood diplomacy proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, said Chang, adding that China will always be a good neighbor, friend, brother and partner to Cambodia.
He called on the two countries to defend security of their respective countries and jointly safeguard the peace and stability of the region.
For his part, Tea Banh said Cambodia is willing to further exchanges with China in the area of national defense, and expressed his hope the two armies actively cooperate in areas such as high-level exchanges, personnel training, joint exercises and training, and weaponry.
Cambodia appreciated the security concept and cooperation initiatives proposed by China, said Tea Banh who is also a deputy prime minister, adding his country firmly supports China's policy and proposals on the South China Sea issue, and stands by China's efforts in safeguarding the peace and stability of the region.
Cambodia is willing to work with China to continuously deepen relations between the two countries and two militaries, so as to contribute to the regional peace and stability. Enditem
