New blue book on Turkey unveiled

Xinhua, November 6, 2015 Adjust font size:

A latest edition of a blue book on Turkey was unveiled here on Friday by research centers of two Chinese and Turkish universities, in efforts to boost academic and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

The book, an annual report on Turkey's national development presented by the Center for Turkish Studies (CTS) with Shanghai University and the Confucius Institute with Bogazici University in Istanbul, envisions a deepening China-Turkey relationship from "a broader perspective."

As a country linking Asia and Europe, Turkey figures prominently in China's "Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road" initiative, which promotes connectivity and cooperation among countries involved.

CTS Director Guo Changgang said research into Turkey is expanding in China with a growing recognition of Ankara's significance in recent years.

Song Yuehua, representative from the publisher of the blue book, spoke of its role in promoting academic and people-to-people exchanges between China and Turkey.

CTS scholars have also published an updated edition of a nation's guide on Turkey, as part of their gains from the research and studies. Endit
