Singapore stocks close 0.55 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 16.83 points, or 0.55 percent, to close at 3,023.65.

A total of 1.2 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 948.6 million Singapore dollars (674.45 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 225 to 169, while 539 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 40.92 points, or 1.36 percent, to close at 3,040.48 on Wednesday. Enditem
