PLO adopts recommendations to determine ties with Israel

Xinhua, November 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

A Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) panel adopted on Wednesday recommendations on determining the security, political and economical ties with Israel.

The PLO executive committee met in Ramallah and was chaired by President Mahmoud Abbas said in a statement that it adopted these recommendations which determine the current ties with the Israeli occupation authorities.

Ahmed Majdalani, the senior PLO executive committee member, told Xinhua that the adopted recommendations basically relied on the PLO Central Council decisions made in March and Abbas speech before the UN in September.

"The recommendations are a political program adopted by the PLO that decides the upcoming stages and includes a series of measures that will be consecutively implemented," said Majdalani.

He also said the first measure will include addressing an official Palestinian letter to the United Nations and the world's leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"After addressing the letter, the Palestinians will take measures to reiterate that the Palestinians won't remain alone being committed to the signed accords as long as the other party (Israel) is not committed to it."

The PLO adopted these recommendations amid a flaring wave of tension and violent confrontations between Israel and the Palestinians, which had already killed 75 Palestinians and 10 Israelis, which began in Oct. 1.

The PLO statement has meanwhile warned the Israeli authorities of keeping "the provocative raid on al-Aqsa mosque compound, adding that "keeping these raids affirms the Israeli government's intentions to change the status quo there."

The PLO called for allowing all the Palestinians to enter al-Aqsa mosque compound without discrimination and respect the holiness of the place. Endit
