1st LD Writethru: 10 killed, 74 injured as factory building collapses in Pakistan's Lahore

Xinhua, November 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least 10 people were killed and 74 others injured on Wednesday evening after a four-storey building of a factory collapsed in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore, local media and officials said.

District coordination officer of Lahore, Muhammad Usman, said that around 35 people are still buried under the debris and rescue teams are working to take them out safely.

The accident happened when some laborers were busy doing construction work in the building in the Sundar Industrial Estate of Lahore, provincial capital of the country's eastern province of Punjab.

Local media quoted some rescue officials as saying that they can hear voices of the people trapped under the debris.

A state of emergency has been declared in all the public hospitals in the city. Endit
