Xinhua, November 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

Cuba presented a new portfolio of business opportunities for foreign investment during the second day of the 33rd Havana International Fair on Tuesday.

Presenting the second version of the portfolio, Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, said that the list includes 80 more projects than the previous to reach a total of 326 projects worth a combined over 8 billion U.S. dollars.

Some of the most attractive projects, the minister said, lie in the Mariel Special Development Zone, located 45 km west of Havana.

Furthermore, the country has focused on projects related to tourism, oil exploration, energy and agriculture, he said.

"These projects," said Malmierca, "will contribute to Cuba's accelerated economic growth and create great confidence among investors."

Alongside the portfolio, Cuba presented its commercial directory, which compiles information about the characteristics of companies and relevant regulations, divided by sector of activity.

Around 1,000 exhibitors from over 70 countries, including the United States for the first time, are promoting their goods and services at the fair which runs till Nov. 7. Enditem
