Xinhua, November 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese police have busted a drug gang and captured five suspects in southwest China's Yunnan Province, police announced on Tuesday.

A total of 147 kilograms of methamphetamine and six vehicles were seized, police in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province said.

In early September, police discovered a drug trafficking network led by a man surnamed Wei that had been purchasing drugs from abroad and importing them to China via Xishuangbanna.

The ring was busted on Oct. 23, according to police.

The drug gang has been very active in the Golden Triangle area.

The case is under further investigation. Endi
