The fight against corruption will neither be relaxed nor end in the near future, a document adopted at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee last week vowed.
The principle of strictly governing the Party should be upheld and the rules as well as discipline of the Party must be observed, according to the full text of the proposal for economic and social development in the 13th Five-year Plan (2016 to 2020), which was released Tuesday.
The document pledged efforts to cement the achievements made in the anti-corruption campaign and tightened supervision and checks over power, in addition to working out an effective mechanism that would stem corruption.
The document said the Party's leadership must be strengthened to ensure the materialization of the 13th five-year plan.
Meanwhile, it urged the use of rule of law to boost development. It said the Party must exercise power in accordance with the law and efforts should be made to improve the Party's capability of governing the nation. according to the Constitution and the law while managing itself with Party rules.
The Party's role in legislation should be strengthened to facilitate the formulation of a complete system of laws.
While strengthening the governance by law, efforts must be made to define, exercise, check and supervise power according to law so as to bring all the government activities into the orbit of law, according to the document.
The document called for deepened reform in the judicial system, boosting justice and better safeguarding rights.
The public servants' awareness of respecting and observing law must be enhanced and a social environment where the rule of law is upheld should be nurtured. Endi
