Taiwan stocks close up 1.14 pct

Taiwan's share prices closed higher on Tuesday with the weighted index up 98.42 points, or 1.14 percent, to close at 8,713.19, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

Turnover totaled 94.46 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.98 billion U.S. dollars). Endit
