Taiwan stocks close up 0.71 pct

Taiwan's share prices closed higher Monday with the weighted index up 60.46 points, or 0.71 percent, to close at 8,614.77, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

Turnover totaled 77.74 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.40 billion U.S. dollars). Endit
