WASHINGTON -- The White House confirmed Thursday that U.S. and South Korean fighter jets had intercepted Russian bombers flying near the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan in the Sea of Japan earlier the week.

The encounter took place when the U.S. conducted a military exercise with South Korea in "international waters" off the Korean Peninsula, said White House spokesman Josh Earnest at the daily briefing. (US-Russia-Bombers Interception)

WASHINGTON -- Fifteen people were injured when a Dynamic Airways passenger plane caught fire Thursday at an airport in the U.S. state of Florida, authorities said.

One of the victims suffered burns which are not life-threatening, while the others had mainly bruises, bumps and sprains during the accident at the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, a Broward County Fire Department spokesman was quoted by local media as saying. BUCHAREST -- The Moldovan Cabinet of Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet was dismissed Thursday through a no-confidence vote in parliament put forward by opposition parties PCRM (Party of Communists) and PSRM (Party of Socialists).

After four hours of debate, the motion of censure was voted on with 65 of 101 members of parliament (MPs), including the Democrats of the ruling coalition, in favor of impeachment. (Moldova-Gov't-Dismissal)

DAR ES SALAAM -- Tanzanian ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party's candidate John Pombe Magufuli has won the presidential election with some 58 percent of the votes cast, the electoral commission declared on Thursday.

Magufuli, who celebrated his 56th birthday on the same day, would become the country's fifth president succeeding President Jakaya Kikwete who was completing his two five-year terms. (Tanzania-President) Endi
