Slovenian government has announced some 6,400 migrants arrived in its territory by Thursday afternoon, with two more trains of refugees on the way from Croatia, while some 8,200 were located at the various migrants centres across the country at 5 pm.
The Slovenian police said in the afternoon that Austria had accepted some 7,000 people during the course of the day and that a train carrying some 600 was on its way to cross into Austria in Jesenice, according to the Slovenian Press Agency (STA).
Slovenian Interior Minister Vesna Gyorkos Znidar told the press after a government session that the cabinet had discussed measures to restrict illegal migrations. She did not reveal any details, but said that the list also included "the most restrictive" measures.
She underlined that Slovenia was investing maximum effort to protect the Schengen border, adding that it was also the first country on the Balkan route trying to slow down the migration flow. Endit
