Singapore stocks close 1.28 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 39.00 points, or 1.28 percent, to close at 3,001.51.

A total of 1.22 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 956.9 million Singapore dollars (682.2 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 251 to 138, while 543 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 12.02 points, or 0.39 percent, to close at 3,040.51 on Wednesday. Endit
