Tokyo shares end higher by break awaiting Fed decision

Tokyo shares ended the morning session higher on Wednesday as investors hunted bargains after losses in the previous day and sentiment here was also weighed on by U.S. Federal Reserve's policy decision due later the day.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average jumped 113.17 points, or 0.60 percent, higher from Tuesday to 18,890.21.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 3.07 points, or 0.20 percent, at 1,546.18. Enditem
