Indian police Sunday arrested four Hindu militants for disrupting a drama staged by some Pakistani artists near the Indian capital, said police.

Four rightwing Hindu outfit of Shiv Sena members were arrested in Gurgaon, a business city near Delhi, after a complaint by Municipal Corporation of the city.

Around six young men claiming to be Shiv Sena members climbed atop the stage at an open air theater where a group of seven Pakistani actors were staging a play called Banjh, shouting anti-Pakistan slogans and disrupting the show for about 10 minutes.

The Shiv Sena militants recently attacked a number of public functions relating with Pakistan, including a book launching event and a cricket officials' meeting in Mumbai, causing widespread public protests and condemnations.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose Bhatariya Janata Party is an ally of Shiv Sena, Sunday said India's civilization is based on diversity of communities, religions and castes, after being criticized at home by many for keeping silent on a spate of attacks by Hindu militants upon Muslims and low caste people, which resulted in several deaths of innocent people.
