China's top political advisor meets Tsinghua University advisors

Xinhua, October 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng met on Friday with overseas economic experts at Tsinghua University in Beijing, asking them to offer more advice on China's economic growth.

While meeting with members of the Advisory Board of Tsinghua University's school of economics and management, Yu said China will continue to expand market access for foreign investment.

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, invited foreign companies to invest in China.

China is in a key stage of economic transformation, and the 13th Five-Year Plan for national economic and social development would balance growth with restructuring and focus on the environment, Yu said.

He said innovation is of great importance to China, adding a series of measures would motivate the whole of society toward entrepreneurship and innovation.

Advisors, including David Rubenstein, chairman of the Advisory Board and CEO of the Carlyle Group, said they would contribute to China's educational and economic development.

The advisory board, founded in 2000, consists of professors from foreign universities and CEOs from multinationals. Endi
