Singapore stocks close 0.22 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 6.67 points, or 0.22 percent, to close at 3,025.70.

A total of 2.48 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 696 million Singapore dollars (500 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 218 to 211, while 506 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 5.47 points, or 0.18 percent, to close at 3,019.03 on Tuesday. Enditem
