French stock market index down 0.64 pct on Tuesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 finished the trading day with a decrease of 0.64 percent to close at 4,673.81 on Tuesday, down 30.26 points.

With the petroleum price dropping, the CAC 40 of Paris closed slightly lower on Tuesday with 27 of the 40 selected stocks experiencing a downturn.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Tuesday were Saint Gobain, down 3.32 percent, ArcelorMittal, down 2.89 percent, and Sanofi, down 2.04 percent.

The top three gainers on Tuesday were Publicis Groupe, up 1.22 percent, Veolia Environnement, up 1.03 percent, and Engie, up 0.99 percent.

On the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with a marginal advance of 0.03 percent to close at 4,704.07, up 1.28 points. Endit
