Algerian army troops on Tuesday killed three militants in the province of Boumerdes, 55 km eastern Algiers, according to a statement of the Defense Ministry.

"Part of counterterrorism efforts and after the exploitation of accurate tips, a detachment of the National Peoples' Army in the 1st military region of Boumerdes launched a dragging operation that led to killing three terrorists," reads the statement.(Algeria-Militant-Clash)

JERUSALEM/RAMALLAH/UNITED NATIONS -- Another violent day has passed when the bloody clashes between the Israelis and the Palestinians have continued to claim more lives of both sides as the UN chief has arrived in Israel to help calm the situation that has seemed to run out of control.

BRUSSELS -- The European Union (EU) on Tuesday released an action plan to strengthen aviation safety following the crash of Germanwings Flight 9525 on March 24 this year.

The European Commission, or the EU's executive body, unveiled an Action Plan implementing the recommendations made in July by the Task-Force led by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on the Germanwings flight crash.(EU-Aviation Safety)

DAMASCUS -- A pro-opposition monitor group said Tuesday that Russian airstrikes on rebel-held areas in the countryside of Syria's coastal city of Latakia on Monday killed 45 people and wounded dozens of others, including rebel commanders.

The Russian air force targeted several areas in al-Akrad Mountain in the northern countryside of Latakia on Monday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, adding that the dead also included civilians.(Syria-Russia-Airstrikes)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- At least 14 people were killed and 30 others injured Tuesday after a mini-bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.

The accident took place in morning at Ramnagar area of Udhampur district, about 230 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.(India-Road Accident) Endi
