Minor quake hits Indian capital

A minor earthquake hit the Indian capital and its adjoining areas on Saturday, and there had been no reports of any casualty or damage to properties, an official said.

"Mild tremors were felt in the wee hours of the day. The magnitude of the earthquake was 3.0 on the Richter Scale," the official said, on condition of anonymity.

He added: "The epicenter of the quake was somewhere in the National Capital Region and the quake was felt for a few seconds only."

Senior disaster management officials have visited some of the quake-hit areas but no casualty or damage to any property has been reported, the official said. Endi
