SOFIA -- U.S. land forces will deploy next week to Bulgaria 33 heavy weapons and some 200 servicemen to participate in a joint drill with the Balkan country, officials said Friday.
The transportation of the troops and the weapons, including 10 tanks, 20 infantry fighting vehicles and three 155mm artillery systems, will begin in the "coming days" and they are expected to arrive in Bulgaria from next Thursday to Saturday, the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.(Bulgaria-U.S.-Drills)

PARIS -- France launched a second air strike overnight in Syria against an Islamic State (IS) training camp and further strikes will follow, Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said Friday.
"France hit Daesh (or IS) in Syria last night in Raqqa," Le Drian told local broadcaster Europe 1, adding that "it is not the first time, nor will it be the last time," hinting there might be more air strikes in the future.(France-Syria-IS)

HERAT, Afghanistan -- Clash between security forces and Taliban militants have claimed the lives of 28 people including a civilian in the western Herat and Farah provinces since Thursday night, officials said on Friday.
In the lastest fighting, which occurred in Herat province, with Herat city as its capital, 11 people including 10 insurgents were killed, police said.(Afghanistan-Taliban-Clash) Endi
