Tokyo stocks open lower after 6-day rally

Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower in early trading Thursday as investors locked in gains from a six-day winning streak.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 27.80 points, or 0.15 percent, from Wednesday to 18,295.18. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 1.26 points, or 0.08 percent, to 1,491.91.

Decliners were led by retail, air transport and foods. Endi
