Cold front to chill north China

Xinhua, October 7, 2015 Adjust font size:

A cold front is moving toward a vast part of northern and central China, bringing low temperatures and strong winds, the national weather observatory forecast on Wednesday.

From Wednesday night to Friday, cold air will sweep the eastern parts of northwest China, most parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, north China, most parts of northeast China as well as central and east China regions, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said.

Temperatures will drop by 6 to 10 degrees Celsius in these regions, the center said.

Thanks to the winds, the smog having blanketed the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region for the past three days will disappear Wednesday night.

In the coming three days, most parts of southwest China will experience heavy rain, with some areas to be hit by storms and heavy downpours, the NMC added. Endi
