Australia suffers third driest Sept.

Australia suffered through its third driest September on record with more dry weather to come in October, Australia's weather bureau warned.

Australia's Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) on Wednesday issued a mid-cycle update to it's climate outlook due to the rapidly evolving changes in the oceans surrounding Australia which points towards a drier October nationwide.

An emerging positive dipole in the Indian Ocean is reinforcing an already strong El Nino, the BOM said.

El Nino and its associated drought and frost -- which have caused staple food crops to fail -- have already been playing havoc in the pacific nations, affecting upwards of 2 million people from food and water shortages. Endi
