A man was charged for sending four threatening messages on facebook to Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in June this year, local media reported on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old man Tan Yeong Hong said he became frustrated when found out that the prime minister was not at the scene when he attended Lee's "Meet the People Session."

He then sent a facebook message with his ID number as well as mobile contact to Lee. "Eh, You challenged me to visit your MPS but you are not here. I will find and stage an Attack on you when I have information on your Public Appearances. You know who I am," he wrote.

Tan, who has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, admitted had no intention of implementing such threats, according to Channel NewsAsia.

He also face two other charges of causing hurt to two public servants.

The judge, who convicted Tan on the three counts, adjourned his sentencing to a later date so for him to engage counsel. Endi
