At least ten people were killed and 25 wounded on Monday in a car bomb attack at a marketplace at a town in Iraq's southern province of Basra, a provincial security source told Xinhua.
An explosive-laden car parking at Hallaqeen street in a popular market in the town of Zubair in west of the oil-hub city of Basra, which located some 550 km south of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the source said on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-Bombing)

BRUSSELS -- European Council President Donald Tusk on Monday met with visiting President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, calling for closer cooperation on coping with refugee crisis.
"The situation where hundreds of thousands of people are fleeing to the EU via Turkey must be stopped. And we cannot do it on our own, we need the Turkish side," said Tusk after the two leaders' meeting. (EU-Refugee)

ATHENS -- Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras presented his left-led government's four-year policy program on Monday, pledging the full and swift implementation of reforms and commitments undertaken under the third bailout agreed with international lenders this summer.

KABUL -- One person was killed and three others got injured when a suicide car bombing rocked the western part of Kabul Monday night, police said.
"A suicide bomber attacked the house of Nahim Baluch, former governor of Helmand province, at around 8:00 p.m. (1530 GMT) along Dar-ul-Aman road, wounding three persons," a police officer told Xinhua near the scene.The bomber was killed on the spot. (Afghanistan-Bombing) Endi
