Hamas says armed resistance against Israeli occupation going on

Xinhua, October 6, 2015 Adjust font size:

A Hamas movement spokesman said on Monday that the procession of armed resistance against (Israeli) occupation is going on, following five Hamas militants were arrested by Israeli security forces.

Earlier on Monday, Israeli announced that its security forces arrested five Hamas activists, who are suspects for carrying out a shooting attack last Thursday on a car near Nablus, killing a Jewish couple.

"The Israeli occupation announcement that it arrested the Nablus cell represents a declaration of honor for our people and our resistance," Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas spokesman, said in an emailed press statement.

He went on saying that this group is not the first one and it won't be the last one, adding that the procession of armed resistance against the occupation is going on with the help of Allah (God).

He also said that the decisions of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet against demonstrators and others who carry out attacks in West Bank "won't put off the flames of our popular uprising in the West Bank."

Over the past few days of escalation of violence between Israel and the Palestinians, four Palestinians and four Israelis were killed in separate violent incidents in the West Bank and in east Jerusalem's Old City.

Israel occupied the Palestinian territories in the West Bank and annexed east Jerusalem in the 1967 Mideast War.

Palestinians are charging against Israel's "aggressive" moves in east Jerusalem around Temple Mount and the expansion of settlements as moves sustaining the status quo of the occupation and preventing the establishment of a future Palestinian state, according to the two-state solution. Endit
