Croatian parliamentary elections set for Nov. 8

Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic on Monday set the date for the country's parliamentary elections for Nov. 8.

Grabar Kitarovic called on the citizens to come out to the elections, especially encouraging younger citizens to vote.

Since parliament was dissolved on Sept. 28, the Croatian President was obliged to set the elections between 30 and 60 days from that date.

Now all political parties and candidates have to submit lists with candidates to the state elections committee within 14 days.

After checking the lists over a two-day period, the official campaign can start.

Croatian Prime Minister and president of the center-right Social Democratic Party (SDP), Zoran Milanovic, said his party would be ready for the elections. Endit
