2 suspected "insurgents" killed in Burundi police operation

Two suspected "insurgents" were killed Saturday during an arms search operation in the northern part of the Burundian capital Bujumbura, police said.

"During clashes that lasted several hours between security forces and insurgents, two insurgents were killed and two policemen were injured," Burundian Police Deputy-Spokesman Pierre Nkurikiye told reporters.

Two houses were burned in grenade attacks by the insurgents, he said. And security forces successfully released the three civilians, who were taken hostages. Endi
