South china blasts suspect locked

Chinese police has apprehended a 33-year-old man surnamed Wei, a native of Liucheng county in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on suspicion of causing the blasts on Wednesday afternoon that killed six people.

The blasts occurred at the seat of Liucheng county and the surrounding areas from 15:50.

Five people died at the scene and one died in hospital. Dozens of injured people have been taken to hospital.

Pictures online showed a building half-collapsed in Dapu Township. Witnesses also saw vehicles damaged in the road.

The Ministry of Public Security has sent criminal investigators to the scene. Endi
