Young migrant found dead in northern France

Xinhua, September 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

A young migrant was found dead in a truck in the northern port city of Calais on Tuesday, according to local authorities.

A truck driver found at 08:00 local time (0600 GMT) a lifeless body of a man "probably crushed by pallets", Calais prefecture said in a statement.

The victim was a 20-year-old Iraqi migrant who attempted to stream to London, it added.

About 11 people have been killed since early June while trying to cross to Britain by boarding lorries and trains.

About 3,500 refugees from Syria, Iraq and African countries are camping out of Calais, hoping to reach Britain for a better life. Endi
