Turkish police officer killed in gunmen attack in southern town

One Turkish police officer was killed and another one wounded in an attack in southern Turkey on Monday evening, private Dogan news agency reported.

Two masked gunmen driving a motorcycle raided a police car in front of a hospital in Seyhan town of Adana province, leaving one police officer dead and another police officer wounded, according to the report.

The wounded police officer was sent to the hospital of Cukurova University for treatment, said the report.

The Turkish police have launched an operation to capture the two unidentified gunmen who escaped from the scene in Adana, said the report, adding that an investigation into the incident was underway. Endit
