The NATO-led Resolute Support (RS) mission in Afghanistan has strongly condemned a suicide bomb attack in Afghanistan's eastern Paktika province, the RS said in a statement on Monday.

On Sunday evening, a terrorist riding a motorcycle bomb and detonated it at a volleyball playground in Khir Kot district of Paktika. The death toll has risen to 20 killed with 32 injured, a provincial official told Xinhua earlier on Monday.

"Resolute Support strongly condemns the suicide attack at a playground in Paktika province...that killed several civilians and injured dozens more, including women and children," the statement said.

"We are appalled by the insurgents' lack of concern for civilian casualties, particularly women and children," Col. Brian Tribus, RS's director of public affairs, said in the statement.

"We remain committed to assisting our Afghan partners in achieving sustainable security and stability," the statement added. Endi
