Bulls' Dunleavy out 8-10 weeks after back procedure

Chicago Bulls announced Saturday that forward Mike Dunleavy Jr. is to miss eight to 10 weeks after having a lower back microdiscectomy procedure.

The Bulls said in a statement that Dunleavy experienced some occasional back discomfort over the summer and it got progressively worse.

Dunleavy, who turns 35 in September, signed a three-year, $14 million contract with Chicago. He averaged 9.4 points in 63 games last season for the Bulls and shot 41 percent from 3-point range. In the playoffs, he averaged 10.9 points and shot 48 percent from 3-point range. Endi
