Shanghai SIPG beat Shandong Luneng 1-0 in CSL

Xinhua, September 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

The once best local striker Wu Lei scored a last minute goal, helping Shanghai SIPG grab a 1-0 victory over Shandong Luneng at the 27th round of 2015 Chinese Super League (CSL) in Jinan on Saturday.

Both Shandong Luneng and Shanghai SIPG are competing for the champions, although Guangzhou Evergrande grab the top place two weeks ago.

Both teams wasted a handful of scoring opportunities in the 90 minutes, but the host was distracted in the stoppage time.

Conca's excellent passing put Wu Lei clear of the Shandong defenders and Wu Lei flicked the ball into the net in the 94th minute after wasting two opportunities a moment ago.

In other games, the defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande beat Guizhou Renhe 3-2, and Shijiazhuang Ever Bright edged Shanghai Greenland 2-0.

Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai SIPG maintained their top two places, while the third place Shandong Luneng had little opportunity of winning the champions after today's defeat. Endi
