Spain's Real Madrid remembers Mexican star Hugo Sanchez

Spain's club Real Madrid recalled Mexican former player Hugo Sanchez, former star of the team, by posting a photo in Instagram, Mexican sports daily La Aficion informed on Friday.

In its Instagram account, Real Madrid recalled the outstanding Mexican forward player, who played for the club from 1985 to 1992.

The photo caption read: "Hugo Sanchez. A goalscorer like no other and one of the best strikers in the history of Real Madrid. Golden Boot: 1 Games: 282 Goals: 208 Titles: 10 #RMHistory #HalaMadrid #tbt"

In its traditional "Throwback Thursday" in Instagram, Real Madrid posted the photo of the Mexican player with the club's jersey.

The photo caption also mentioned the player's honors, like the European Golden Boot, and the number of games, goals, titles with the Spanish club.

Sanchez was a prolific goalscorer known for his spectacular strikes and volleys.

In 1999, the International Federation of Football History and Statistics voted Sanchez the 26th best footballer of the 20th century, and the best footballer from the CONCACAF region.

In 2004 Sanchez was named in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players. He is considered Mexico's greatest-ever footballer. Endit
