1st LD: Swiss prosecutor opens criminal proceedings against Blatter

Xinhua, September 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) said on Friday it has opened criminal proceedings against President of Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Sepp Blatter on suspicion of criminal mismanagement as well as, alternatively , on suspicion of misappropriation.

The OAG suspected that Blatter has signed an "unfavorable" contract with the Caribbean Football Union on Sept. 12, 2005.

There is also suspicion that in the implementation of the agreement Blatter also violated his fiduciary duties and acted against the interest of FIFA and/or FIFA Marketing and TV AG. Endit
