Xinhua, September 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

Police have "clearly identified" 10 migrants among the 71 deceased migrants nearly a month after they were found dead in the back of a truck on an Austrian motorway.

Nine of the 10 victims were men, with all of them from Iraq and none aged over 50. Four of the bodies were already in the custody of their relatives, and others have been informed of the news, Burgenland State Police said in a press release Wednesday.

The other deceased will also be able to be identified, the police said, adding they will continue to make further investigations on the identification work.

Austrian police found 71 migrants dead in an abandoned freezer truck near the Hungarian border, southeast of Vienna late August.

Three Bulgarians and one Afghan citizens were arrested following the tragedy, who were suspected to have played roles in the transportation of the 71 refugees from Hungary to Austria. Endi
