Kiryienka wins time trial at road cycling worlds

European champion Vasil Kiryienka of Belarus was crowned with the men's individual time trial title at the World Road Cycling Championships here on Wednesday.

Kiryienka, 34, finished the 53.5km course in one hour, two minutes and 29.45 seconds to lift his first world title.

Italy's Adriano Malori, 27, came second 9.08 off the pace and Frenchman Jerome Coppel took bronze in 1:02:56.07.

Germany's Tony Martin, 30, slowed to seventh after winning from 2011-13 and was second last year behind Britain's Bradley Wiggins, who has retired from road racing. Endi
