Uganda Cranes miss out on Malawi, Benin international friendlies

Xinhua, September 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

Uganda Cranes have missed two international friendly matches as they prepare for the last round of the 2016 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier.

Head Coach of Uganda Cranes, Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic told Xinhua on Wednesday that although he had secured two international friendly games, the Uganda FA said it is not doing well financially to cater for some of the costs of the visiting nations.

The Coach said Malawi was ready to face Uganda on Oct. 4 and Benin on Oct. 10.

Sredojevic was hoping to use the two matches to fine tune the team ahead of their first leg encounter against Sudan on Oct. 17 in the CHAN qualifier before the return leg in Khartoum on Oct. 24.

The winner over the two legs will qualify for the tournament to take place in Kigali, Rwanda in January next year. Endit
