Palestinian gov't slams Israeli killing of youth in West Bank

Xinhua, September 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Palestinian government condemned on Tuesday the killing of a Palestinian young man in the West Bank city of Hebron by "Israeli bullets" late on Monday.

Dia Al-Talahmeh, 21, was killed during clashes with the Israeli army in Hebron, south of the West Bank.

Palestinian sources said that the man attacked Israeli soldiers with a grenade when they shot him dead.

Earlier on Tuesday, an 18-year-old Palestinian girl sustained wounds in the abdomen after Israeli soldiers opened fire at her in Hebron.

Israeli sources said that girl attempted to stab an Israeli soldier with a knife.

The girl was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, while no injuries among the Israeli soldiers were reported, an Israeli army spokesperson was quoted by the Israeli radio as saying.

The latest Israeli "crimes in Hebron are a continuation of the policy of attacks and violations against the unarmed Palestinian people,"spokesman for the Palestinian government Ehab Bseiso said in a statement.

He called on the international community and the United Nations to stand firm against these "crimes that violate international laws and treaties." Enditem
